Ecobank Cameroon Raises 2025 Dividend by 30% to CFA24.5 Billion

Shareholders of Ecobank Cameroon approved the distribution of a total gross dividend of CFA24.5 billion for the 2025 financial year during an ordinary general meeting held on April 30, 2026 in Douala.

The payout corresponds to CFA245,440 per share and represents an increase of about 30% compared with the previous financial year.

The rise follows stronger profitability at the bank, whose net profit reached CFA27.292 billion in 2025, up from CFA21.05 billion a year earlier, also marking growth of about 30%.

Dividend payment nevertheless remains subject to prior approval from the Central African Banking Commission (COBAC).

After deduction of tax on investment income, the net dividend would amount to CFA204,942 per share.

Overall, Ecobank Cameroon plans to distribute about 90% of its net profit to shareholders, while the remaining CFA2.72 billion should be allocated to reserves and retained earnings.

The high shareholder payout comes amid sustained profitability for the bank.

On the same day, shareholders also approved a CFA15 billion increase in share capital, raising it from CFA10 billion to CFA25 billion in line with prudential requirements for the banking sector in the CEMAC region.
