Turkish investors seek electronics and technology opportunities in Cameroon

Business-to-business meetings between Cameroonian economic operators and members of the Turkish Association of Electro-Technology Exporters (TET) will take place on February 4 in Douala. The announcement was made by Cameroon’s Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, in a statement published on January 7. The event is being organized by the Cameroon–Türkiye Business Council (CTBC).

According to the minister, the objective of the meetings is to strengthen bilateral trade and identify investment opportunities in Cameroon. The signing of partnership agreements during the B2B sessions is expected to help consolidate the increasingly dynamic economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

In recent years, Türkiye has become a growing market for Cameroonian importers, while goods and services from Cameroon are increasingly in demand in the Turkish market.

However, trade relations between the two countries evolved unevenly between 2023 and 2024. Türkiye dropped out of Cameroon’s top 10 suppliers in 2023, but in 2024 it ranked as the country’s 10th largest destination for Cameroonian exports, according to data compiled by the National Institute of Statistics.
