Yesterday, Tradex GE, the Equatorial Guinea subsidiary of Cameroonian fuel distributor Tradex SA, inaugurated a new service station in Malabo. The opening brings the company’s network in the country to 12 stations.
The official ceremony was attended by Equatorial Guinea Prime Minister, as well as Nathalie Moudiki, representing the president of the Tradex Group. Tradex SA is a subsidiary of Cameroon’s National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH), where Moudiki also serves as Technical Adviser No. 2. Through this new opening, the group strengthens its regional footprint in a strategic Central African oil market.
The Equatorial Guinea subsidiary has been led by Alain Francis Ngondi Owona since November 7, 2025. His appointment followed a Tradex GE board meeting, as the group moved to consolidate its operations outside Cameroon.
Tradex GE has operated in Equatorial Guinea since November 2015 and has gradually structured its activities. In 2019, the company signed an agreement with the Equatorial Guinean government covering studies and financing research for the construction of fixed and floating oil storage depots to expand national storage capacity.
Operations have not been without challenges. In October, Tradex faced a temporary suspension of activities due to non-compliance with certain regulatory, tax, and environmental documentation requirements. The suspension was lifted after two weeks, underscoring the compliance demands governing fuel distribution.
Tradex currently has share capital of CFA1.5 billion, supporting its expansion across the CEMAC sub-region and its positioning as a regional fuel distribution player.
