A man was discovered tied up in a palm grove alongside four human remains at Sikoum, approximately seventeen kilometers away from the Edea central town in the Sanaga Maritime Division of the Littoral.

The remains included three lifeless bodies and a human skeleton. The discovery is said to have been made on February 12. In a video clip CNA has seen, the survivor is being untied by individuals who speak pidgin English and French. In their comments as they loosened the boy who they say had on no identification documents, they explained he had lost sufficient energy and was nearing death.

The duration of his stay has not yet been confirmed and the incidences leading to the kidnap undisclosed. One of the bodies is identified as a biker named Thomas Bihai.

Achille Mpande, SDO of Sanaga Maritime Division has weighed in. He convened a security meeting to hold February 19. It is speculated that the act was carried out by a gang who targets especially bikers. State media reports that security measures have been put in place in response along the stretch which is part of National road number 3.
