SNH is determined to prosecute and convict all those involved in Glencoregate – Cameroon News Agency


The Managing Director of the Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH) informs national and international opinion that the SNH is closely following the hearings of the managers and employees of the multinational Glencore, who have been appearing in court since September 10, 2024. British for acts of corruption committed in African countries, including Cameroon.

The acts of corruption for which Glencore was convicted by final judgment of the Southwark Crown Court (London) dated November 3, 2022, relate to the period from 2012 to 2015, with regard to Cameroon. The hearing opened at Westminster Magistrates Court (London). He declared himself incompetent given the seriousness of the charges. He referred the case to Southwark Crown Court, and ordered the six defendants released on bail, pending the next hearing which will be held on October 8.

This is the place to recall that the SNH had seized Glencore on May 30, 2022, as soon as this affair broke out, then on June 5, 2023, after the conviction of Glencore on November 3, 2022, so that it communicates the names SNH agents who would be involved in this affair. But Glencore refused this request, citing an “anonymity clause” concluded with the Serious Fraud Office, a government agency attached to the Attorney General, which was leading the investigation.

Since the revelation of this affair, in May 2022, SNH has frozen all its activities with Glencore, both in the field of exploration/production and on a commercial level.

In any case, the SNH remains awaiting its hearing by the Special Criminal Court, following its complaint filed on November 6, 2023, with the hope that all those involved in these economic crimes will be unmasked and punished in accordance with to the Cameroonian Penal Code.

Finally, SNH would like to reiterate its attachment to the values ​​of ethics, fairness and economic patriotism.
