(Business in Cameroon) – Saudi Arabia will allow non-Saudis to purchase property starting January 2026. The new law applies mainly to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, sparking fresh investment prospects.
Oumar Nchare, Cameroon’s Consul General in Jeddah, announced the reform in a press release dated July 24. He addressed Cameroonians living in the Mecca region and those interested in real estate in Saudi Arabia. He urged them to learn about the changes and consider investing.
Nchare also advised potential buyers to monitor upcoming rules via the Istitaa application. He stressed the importance of respecting Saudi laws to ensure safe property transactions.
Cameroon and Saudi Arabia enjoy deep diplomatic and economic relations. Riyadh funds several infrastructure projects in Cameroon, while many Cameroonians travel annually to Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage to Mecca. Yet, the exact number of Cameroonians residing in Saudi Arabia remains unknown.
