(Business in Cameroon) – Between May 30 and June 1, 2024, a caravan organized by Société Anonyme des Boissons du Cameroun (SABC) visited multiple schools across the West region of the country. The initiative aimed to enhance academic standards and improve classroom environments. As part of this effort, the prominent brewery distributed 350 desks and benches worth CFA15 million to the schools visited.
In addition, hundreds of notebooks were presented to top-performing students in these schools to celebrate their achievements during the past academic year. “The 350 desks and benches will enable over 2,000 students to have proper seating posture, thereby enhancing their academic performance at the end of the year,” stated Vanessa Nana, Head of CSR at Boissons du Cameroun.
Boissons du Cameroun’s commitment to schools and students in the West region is integral to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy as the leading brewery in Cameroon. For many years, this policy has encompassed promoting access to education and academic excellence, improving healthcare for communities through donations to hospitals, environmental protection, and assisting disadvantaged populations, among other initiatives.
