As part of the Goethe-Découverte platform, the Goethe-Institut Kamerun presents the stage performance of « L’enfer c’est les nôtres » by Bern’Artdo.
Bernard Bekoa, AKA Bern’Artdo, known by the nickname ‘‘le voyou des voyelles’, is a Cameroonian slam artist who uses this art form to express his emotions and denounce injustice. His committed creations, tinged with humour and sarcasm, depict the everyday life of a society, which is a call to action to build harmonious relationships and cultivate peace and love.
By 2021, Bern’Artdo was performing several landmark shows, including « On n’est pas fous ». and « SOUL’ART 1 and 2 ». In 2024, he created « OTS: On a Trop Slamé», which was later selected for the 13th edition of Marché des Arts et du Spectacle Africain d’Abidjan (MASA) in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Goethe-Découverte 2025 laureate is a slam trainer, aimed at passing on his passion and know-how to the next generation of artists. He has featured in many renowned festivals, including IFACA, Slameroun and UNIFAC. Bern’Artdo won the first prize in the national Rap/Slam 2025 competition organised by the Alliance Franco-Camerounaise in Dschang. He is currently working on his debut slam EP titled ‘‘Repose en père’’, a tribute to his father, his muse and primary source of inspiration.

Initiated in 2015 by the Goethe-Institut Kamerun, Goethe-Découverte is a platform for promoting young Cameroonian artistic talent in several disciplines (comics, music, visual arts, theatre, dance, performance). The winners are selected by a jury of professionals following a competition and receive support in preparing and producing their creative project. This year, the Goethe-Découverte platform is celebrating its 10th anniversary!
