Hamadou Sali Appointed Chairman of Douala Port Timber Terminal

(Business in Cameroon) – On May 2, 2024, during a board meeting, Cameroonian politician Hamadou Sali was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the Douala Port Timber Terminal (TBPD), a subsidiary of Africa Global Logistics (AGL), which manages the terminal. This appointment was made public in September 2024 through a legal notice in the Cameroon Tribune.

Hamadou Sali succeeds Aoudou Dandjouma, who passed away on September 20, 2023. His term will last for two years, “until the annual general meeting in 2026 that will review the financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2025,” according to the notice. The board terms of AGL Cameroon, AGL, Socopao Cameroon, Movis Cameroon, and the Société de participations africaines were also renewed.

As chairman of this company, which has a capital of CFA464 million, Hamadou Sali will work closely with the general manager to revitalize TBPD, which has faced challenges recently. With his extensive experience in transport and logistics, he is expected to bring valuable expertise to this task.

In addition to this new role, Hamadou Sali continues to serve as the Chairman of AGL Cameroon, of which TBPD is a subsidiary. He will handle both responsibilities simultaneously. Previously, he was CEO of Douala International Terminal (DIT), the former operator of Douala Port’s container terminal, and Chairman of Camrail from 2009 to 2017.

Hamadou Sali, born on January 25, 1965, in Bogo, in the Far North region, is also a member of the National Assembly, representing the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (RDPC).
