Douala cocoa price back above 2,000 CFA/kg, up 300 in five days

Cocoa prices at the port of Douala rose above 2,000 CFA francs per kilogram on Feb. 10, 2026. According to the Commodity Information System (SIF), a price monitoring system managed by the National Cocoa and Coffee Office (ONCC), the FOB (Free on Board) price reached 2,109 CFA francs per kilogram.

Five days earlier, the price stood at 1,800 CFA francs per kilogram, a gain of 300 CFA francs over five days.

Despite the rise in export prices, farm-gate prices remain below 2,000 CFA francs per kilogram, as they have since the start of the season. According to the SIF, prices paid to farmers range between 1,800 and 1,900 CFA francs per kilogram. This level is significantly lower than the average producer prices of between 3,200 and 5,400 CFA francs per kilogram forecast by the government.

Higher producer prices in recent years have boosted cocoa’s share of Cameroon’s export earnings. Prices reached 6,000 CFA francs per kilogram during the 2022–2023 season and a maximum of 5,400 CFA francs per kilogram during the 2024-2025 season.

According to the National Statistics Institute (INS), cocoa overtook hydrocarbons in the first quarter of 2025 to become the country’s top source of export revenue. Cocoa generated 500.3 billion CFA francs, accounting for 44.8% of total export earnings.
