CNPS, G-Stones Join Kribi Port Mineral Terminal Project

(Business in Cameroon) – Cameroon’s National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS) and G-Stones, owned by businessman Dieudonnée Bogne, have joined the project to build a mineral terminal at the deep-water port of Kribi. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding on November 4, 2025, with the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) and the Bestway Finance–AustSino consortium, which has held the construction contract with the state since 2022.

According to official statements, the agreement aims “to structure technical, legal, and financial collaboration for the development of a shared mineral terminal at the Port of Kribi.” The inclusion of CNPS and G-Stones reflects their growing involvement in Cameroon’s mining sector.

G-Stones is developing the Grand Zambi iron ore project near Kribi, while CNPS is negotiating a CFA20 billion equity stake in the Minim Martap bauxite project in the Adamaoua region, developed by Australia’s Canyon Resources through its local subsidiary, Camalco.

PAK indicated that the future terminal will be built in phases on a total area of 330 hectares, including 90 hectares dedicated to storage. It will feature a steel industry cluster to process iron ore extracted from deposits across Central Africa, including Mbalam-Nabeba (Cameroon–Congo), Ngovayang and Grand Zambi (Cameroon), and Avima and Badondo (Congo).

The Kribi mineral terminal is seen as a cornerstone of Cameroon’s push for industrial-scale mining. Combined with the planned 510 km railway line linking Mbalam to Kribi, the facility is expected to make the port the main export platform for national and regional mineral resources.
