Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (Camwater) has awarded two insurance contracts totaling about CFA1.175 billion, according to two decisions signed by the state-owned company’s managing director and made public. Both contracts followed national open tenders conducted under emergency procedures.
AFG Assurances was selected after a national open tender launched on November 18, 2025. The contract covers individual accident insurance and funeral expenses for Camwater staff.
The agreement is structured into three equal tranches. It includes a firm tranche of CFA183.21 million, a first conditional tranche of CFA183.21 million, and a second conditional tranche of the same amount. The total value stands at CFA549.64 million. The execution period is set at 36 months.
In a separate decision, Camwater awarded Zenithe Insurance the contract for its motor vehicle insurance, also launched under emergency procedures. The contract is valued at CFA625.46 million and will run for 36 months.
Through these two awards, Camwater is committing about CFA1.175 billion to cover risks related to its workforce and vehicle fleet over a three-year period.
