Cameroon’s Tax Authority Meets Business Leaders to Discuss 2025 Finance Bill

(Business in Cameroon) – Cameroon’s tax authorities and business leaders are gathering today at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Crafts (Ccima) to discuss the draft of the 2025 Finance Bill.

Ccima informed its members on August 23, 2024, that this consultation would address the challenges encountered in implementing the 2024 Finance Bill and explore suggestions for reforms. Business leaders were given until yesterday morning to submit their input, which includes proposals aimed at expanding the tax base, securing revenue, and improving the tax system for the coming year.

The discussions today are expected to shape the upcoming 2025 Finance Bill and could lead to significant reforms. Among the issues on the table is the possible reactivation of the tax on mobile phone imports, a provision from the 2019 Finance Bill that was suspended due to widespread discontent from both mobile phone users and operators.
