(Business in Cameroon) – Enko Education, the education arm of Enko Capital, co-founded by Cameroonian financier Cyrille Nkontchou, has secured 15 billion CFA francs (about $24 million) from two investors. The funds, raised from Africa Capitalworks and Adiwale Partners, will be used to expand Enko Education’s network of schools across Africa. The goal is to triple the number of students, reaching 20,000 by 2029.
“Enko Education is the ideal partner for school owners who want to pass on their institution to a group that respects their vision and legacy, while providing the necessary resources for growth and success,” Cyrille Nkontchou said. However, he did not disclose which new countries Enko Education plans to target for expansion.
Currently, the company operates 16 schools in 10 Sub-Saharan African countries, including Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and South Africa. One of their key schools is La Gaité School in Yaoundé, Cameroon’s capital. Enko Education focuses on a selective program that prepares African students for the International Baccalaureate. Overall, the network aims to enhance the quality of education across Africa, according to its founders.
