Cameroon Customs Expect Over CFA97bn in October Revenue

(Business in Cameroon) – Cameroon’s customs authorities expect to collect more than CFA97 billion in revenue this October. This information comes from a recent publication by the customs administration. The Littoral I sector in Douala is projected to contribute the most, with anticipated revenues of CFA58.7 billion.

There are also high expectations for the Sud II sector, home to the port of Kribi, which is expected to generate CFA28.2 billion. The Littoral II and Southwest sectors are aiming for CFA4.5 billion and CFA3.6 billion, respectively.

Meanwhile, expectations from the Northwest customs sector are much lower, with only CFA23 million anticipated. The West region is looking at CFA76 million, and the Adamawa region expects CFA70 million.

In September, customs authorities anticipated revenues of CFA103 billion, including CFA60 billion from the Littoral sector.

Overall, the Cameroonian government hopes to mobilize total customs revenue of CFA1,079.9 billion in 2024. This would mark a 10% increase from the projections for 2023. Last year, customs officials collected CFA1,019.8 billion, surpassing an initial target of CFA973.7 billion.
