“You have to spend four days in the forest, bring back three ribbons, track and kill an animal. Don’t worry about the size of the animal, all that matters is that you come back with skin and guts.
13-year-old Lejøno is about to undergo his O’looku, a potentially life-threatening initiation rite consisting of a four-day hunt in the forest. Born sick and not very strong, Lejono fears for his life, despite the advice of his older sister Jezaba, a fearless hunter. During his ordeal, left alone in the forest, he has an encounter that transforms his perception of courage and teaches him an essential lesson.
