QwickServices, a platform designed to connect verified service providers with households and businesses while widening access to income opportunities and formal economic activity, was launched on April 20, 2026.
Developed by GAN Tech Consulting Ltd, the mobile-first platform allows users to discover, book, pay for and track services in real time. The platform, now live in Douala, Yaoundé, Buea and Bamenda, including parts of Limbe connects verified service providers with individual and business clients via two dedicated mobile applications. It hosts more than 2,000 service categories, ranging from plumbers and electricians to legal consultants and web developers. The system integrates digital wallets, job bidding, and a performance-tracking mechanism. Payments are held in escrow and released to providers only after the client confirms satisfactory completion of work.
Clovis Dze Kwa, Managing Director of GAN Tech Consulting Ltd, said the platform was built to shift Cameroon’s service economy away from personal networks and toward demonstrated competence. “Over 80% of our workforce is in the informal sector. We have the talent and the technology; now we have the bridge,” Dze Kwa said.
The platform enters commercial operation having already onboarded close to 1,000 verified providers, with hundreds of transactions completed during its pilot phase. It is designed to target youth and graduates, providing workers with digital work records and verified client reviews.
At the Douala launch, board member HRH Fon Angwafor IV of Mankon underscored the platform’s potential to reduce youth unemployment and dependency ratios. “This platform is a solution to a real-time problem. We have many youths with the mental capacity and skills to solve problems, but they are often hidden in villages or corners of the city where their abilities aren’t recognised. QwickServices brings these people into the limelight,” he stated.
Fon Angwafor IV added a practical illustration of the platform’s utility: his palace had recently used the app to purchase a cow in under ten minutes. He specifically endorsed the user-evaluation feature, noting that “the rating system will help elevate quality. In time, those who do not provide good service will be filtered out by the market itself.”
The platform targets the wider CEMAC region for future expansion, beyond its current Cameroonian footprint.
