Cameroonian engineering firm Labogexp Sarl has secured two contracts from the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) as part of plans to build new branches across the Cemac region.
According to an official document published by the central bank, the Yaoundé-based company will carry out geotechnical studies for planned BEAC sites in Bouar, in the Central African Republic, and Mongomo, in Equatorial Guinea.
Labogexp won two of the three lots put out to tender under the project, with contracts valued at close to CFA100 million.
The assignments involve assessing soil conditions and site characteristics, a critical early step in determining the feasibility, design, and cost of construction projects.
The third lot, covering the planned BEAC branch in Dolisie in the Republic of Congo, was awarded to Bangui-based Lege Engineering, for a contract worth more than CFA72 million.
The distribution of contracts reflects the growing role of regional firms in delivering technical services for large-scale projects led by the central bank. It also highlights the increasing importance of upstream engineering work in shaping public and quasi-public investment projects across Central Africa.
