More Than 150 Entrepreneurs Expected at 2nd “Scale Up Ton Business” Forum in Douala


(Business in Cameroon) – More than 150 entrepreneurs and startup founders are expected to attend the second edition of “Scale Up Ton Business” on December 4, 2025, in Douala. The event, launched by entrepreneur and brand ambassador Nathalie Koah, is sponsored by Cameroonian billionaire Kate Fotso, CEO of Telcar Cocoa.

The forum aims to help young entrepreneurs grow their businesses through branding, digital marketing, artificial intelligence (AI) and sales strategy, according to spokesperson Manuela Tabala Ebe. The program includes workshops and networking sessions on building a strong brand identity, securing project financing, producing content and using AI in business.

Participants will receive guidance from around 15 African entrepreneurs and digital specialists, including Philippe Simo, Claudel Noubissié, Danielle Sassou, Charlotte Kalala and Sery Dorcas.

Organizers say the event will focus on practical training, peer learning and collaboration, with the goal of equipping each participant with tools for long-term positioning in a competitive market.

Impact and Market Context

Several past participants describe the first edition as transformative. Jim Ayissi, founder of a clothing brand, said the training helped him secure a three-month program with LVMH. “After that, I decided to launch a new collection centered on Afro-modern luxury,” he said.

Cameroon’s branding and marketing sector is evolving rapidly, driven by the growth of digital tools, the rise of small and medium-sized businesses active on social media and the increasing need for companies to build distinctive brand identities.

Although no national data is available, branding is widely seen as a key tool for customer retention, visibility and differentiation in an increasingly competitive environment.

Despite ongoing challenges, including limited connectivity and high digital costs, the country’s expanding digital landscape offers significant opportunities for businesses able to adapt their strategies to local market conditions.
