(Business in Cameroon) – The Port Authority of Kribi, PAK, announced it was honored at the 2025 Central Africa Economic Growth and Investment Forum, FECIAC, held in Brazzaville, Congo, from November 3 to 4. According to information released by PAK, it received the Regional Integration Champion award following a reported turnover of FCFA 35.3 billion in 2024.
Based on PAK’s financial statements presented at its general meeting on June 27, 2025, the port recorded revenue of FCFA 35.336 billion in 2024, a 24% increase from the FCFA 27 billion achieved in 2023. That year, the port handled 12.7 million tonnes of goods, up from 10.7 million tonnes in 2023. The company also reported a net profit of about FCFA 3.4 billion and a total balance sheet of FCFA 183.36 billion as of December 31, 2024.
The two-day forum brought together public and private stakeholders to discuss significant challenges facing Central Africa’s economy, including connectivity gaps, limited industrial transformation, and slow intra-regional trade. PAK’s performance data, presented during the event, showed measurable progress in overcoming these issues through infrastructure improvements and operational efficiency.
PAK announced that a key highlight of the forum was the presentation of its upcoming integrated industrial zone covering 2,600 hectares within a 15,000-hectare area designated for port expansion. PAK explained that the project aims to facilitate local processing of raw materials, strengthen industrial value chains, and boost export competitiveness across the region. This development is part of Cameroon’s broader strategy to increase industrial output and reduce dependence on raw material exports.
According to PAK, the recognition from FECIAC 2025 highlights its growing role as a regional logistics hub connecting Central Africa’s economies. “This recognition affirms the vision promoted by the port: to become the catalyst that will enable Central Africa to master its value chains and accelerate its economic integration. The future is being shaped today, and Kribi will be one of its key architects,” PAK emphasized.
