( KRIBI MULTIPURPOSE TERMINAL) – Kribi Multipurpose Terminal SAS (KMT). is celebrating its fifth anniversary today, a major milestone that marks not only five years of exceptional operational performance but also a significant contribution to the economic development of Cameroon and the Central African sub-region.
This celebration is an opportunity to reflect on a journey rich in achievements, to assess the progress made since its inauguration on October 1, 2020, and to proudly share an ambitious vision for the future.
Since its Commencements, Kribi Multipurpose Terminal has established itself as a key driver of port modernization in Cameroon. Strategically located on the Atlantic coast, with a natural depth of 16 meters, it has enhanced the competitiveness of trade corridors, and provided economic operators with a reliable, modern, and secure platform. In just five years, it has become a symbol of efficiency and professionalism.

Several million tons of cargo have been handled with excellent efficiency, including clinker, logs, rice, heavy goods, fertilizers, sawn timber, petcoke, and coal. KMT has also made a mark with its impressive records, including the unloading of 22 205 tons of clinker in just 24 hours, a feat that illustrates the level of performance and technical expertise of its teams.
These five years of activity are the result of remarkable collective effort. They reflect the hard work, rigor, and passion of the men and women who ensure the smooth running of operations and customer satisfaction every day. They also reflect the trust placed in it by business partners, as well as the support of the authorities.
Kribi Multipurpose Terminal is not limited to its operational achievements. Since its inception, it has embedded its actions within a framework of social responsibility, ensuring that its growth is aligned with that of local communities. Aware of the importance of creating a lasting impact beyond its port activities, KMT is multiplying initiatives in Favor of education, health, training, and community development. On this occasion of the fifth anniversary, a new milestone is reached with the launch of a Community Initiative aimed at renovating and equipping a school in the vicinity of the Kribi port. This project illustrates the ongoing commitment to invest in the future of youth and strengthen the bond between the company and its environment.

Looking ahead, KMT is entering a unique phase of expansion. Phase II of the Kribi Port, recently completed, will bring a major transformation in capacity and processing capabilities. With a 615-meter quay, an expanded area of 33 hectares, a modern warehouse dedicated to clinker, and the acquisition of new high-end equipment, KMT is preparing to take a significant leap forward. This expansion will allow it to conveniently accommodate two to three vessels of 80,000 tons each, thereby enhancing Cameroon’s competitiveness in the international maritime market. Additionally, the launch of iron ore exports, a first of its kind and a significant milestone for Cameroon.
Beyond the figures and infrastructure, it is a vision that guides every step of this journey. By celebrating five years of excellence, KMT reaffirms its determination toward operational excellence, safety, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility.
These pillars will remain the foundation of its strategy, aimed at meeting the growing expectations of clients, supporting national ambitions for industrialization and regional integration, and actively contributing to collective prosperity.
