Don’t miss the concert of Manuella’a, winner of Goethe-Decouverte in the Music voice category.
As part of the Goethe-Découverte platform, the Goethe-Institut Kamerun presents the concert titled « BEBELA » by Manuella’a.
Manuella’a, whose real name is Manuella Angue Nto’o, is a Cameroonian songwriter and singer based in Yaoundé. Manuella’a developed love for music while she was 10 years old and later decided to take it as a career during her early days at the university. Through her songs, Manuella’a would like to tell relatable stories and give her audience the opportunity to reflect. This accounts for why she titled her EP « BEBELA », which means truth.
Manuella, through her different songs, calls for love for one another, peace, and solidarity by adding her voice to that of the voiceless, those who are victims of abuse but lack the opportunities to express themselves.
The Goethe-Découverte 2025 laureate in the « music voice » category and a Mutzig Star 2024 finalist intends to use this platform and her music genre to add to the rich repertoire of Cameroonian music through the blend of several rhythms such as reggae and zouk.
