Cameroon Digitizes Cassava, Maize, and Poultry Trades with New Platform

(Business in Cameroon) – On June 10, 2025, the Cameroonian government officially launched the digital platform Cassava Marketplace. Developed in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the platform, accessible at cassavamarketplace.com, aims to connect sellers, buyers, and both financial and non-financial service providers within the cassava, maize, and poultry value chains.

Cassava Marketplace allows each producer or vendor to create a personalized account and publish offers to buy or sell agricultural products, tools, equipment, or seeds within a structured and secure transaction space. All major cassava, maize, and poultry production areas in Cameroon are represented on the platform.

The platform, designed by Cameroonian startup Kiama, seeks to improve the visibility, accessibility, and consumption of agricultural products. It also aims to open new commercial opportunities for entrepreneurs in the sector. However, to maximize its impact, improvements in agricultural productivity and rural road infrastructure remain crucial, as these continue to hinder the smooth flow of goods to markets.
