SABC Expands Free Healthcare Program Across Cameroon

(Business in Cameroon) – Cameroonian brewer SABC announced it is expanding its “Mobile Care” healthcare initiative to cover the entire country as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. Stéphane Descazeaud, the company’s CEO, reaffirmed SABC’s commitment to continuing the program in the years ahead, emphasizing that all regions of Cameroon will now benefit from it. He made the announcement during the fourth phase of “Mobile Care,” held on March 13-14, 2025, in Nkoabang, a town in Nkolafamba, Mefou-et-Afamba, in the Center region.

Nkoabang is the latest stop in the campaign, following previous visits to Edéa and Pouma in the Littoral region, as well as Kribi in the South. Over two days, underprivileged communities in the Center region received free medical care, including vital signs monitoring, medical exams, consultations, and pre-registration for Universal Health Coverage (CSU). Launched on April 12, 2023, CSU aims to provide equitable access to healthcare for all Cameroonians. This aligns with SABC’s mission to “promote well-being while contributing to Cameroon’s development.”

Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, “Mobile Care” focuses on four key goals: supporting the government’s efforts to improve healthcare access in rural areas, providing medical care to the most vulnerable populations—especially those far from health centers—collecting 1,000 blood donations to help save lives, and reinforcing SABC’s role as a socially responsible company in the health sector.
