(Business in Cameroon) – After three years of construction, BGFIBank Cameroon has finished building its new headquarters, the “Sirius Building.” The sleek, eight-story building is located on Vasnitex Street in the Bonapriso neighborhood of Douala. The grand opening is scheduled for next December 6.
The project cost CFA10 billion and was fully funded by the financial group founded by Gabonese billionaire Henri-Claude Oyima. The Sirius Building sits on over 2,500 square meters. It includes a branch on the ground floor, five office floors for employees, and amenities like collaborative spaces, meeting rooms, an auditorium, a library, and a training room. A senior bank official described the building as designed to balance comfort and productivity, with flexible areas for teamwork and quiet zones for focused work.
Henri-Claude Oyima said the new building reflects the bank’s faith in Cameroon and its commitment to long-term success. He highlighted the bank’s goal to become one of the top two banks in Cameroon, focusing on major private and public financing projects.
BGFIBank has been operating in Cameroon since 2011 and has shown steady growth over the years. Its net profits increased from CFA3 billion in 2019 to CFA6.3 billion in 2020. In 2021, profits reached CFA8 billion, then surpassed CFA10 billion in 2022. By 2023, net earnings rose to CFA11 billion, allowing the bank to distribute CFA8.3 billion in dividends to its shareholders.
