As part of the Goethe-Découverte platform, the Goethe-Institut Kamerun presents a concert by 2B Franky, on Friday 25th October 2024 at 07.00 pm at Ubuntu Cultural Center, Yaoundé.

Francky Aurly Ombede, who goes by the stage name 2B Francky, is the winner of the 2024 Goethe-Découverte competition in the « music-sound » category. 2B Francky presents himself as an intergenerational link, seeking to perpetuate the immense cultural heritage of the Fang Beti by highlighting « the mvet » an ancestral instrument of this people. He uses this instrument with more modern sounds, accompanied by lyrics inspired by the Eton language and Beti legends.

The winner of the Goethe-Découverte competition in the “music sound” category intends to use his talent to encourage the preservation of Cameroonian culture.

Initiated in 2015 by the Goethe-Institut Kamerun, Goethe-Découverte is a platform for promoting young Cameroonian artistic talent in several disciplines (comics, music, visual arts, theatre, dance, performance). The winners are selected by a jury of professionals following a competition and receive support in preparing and producing their creative project.
