SABC Awards 750 Scholarships to Primary School Students in Cameroon

(Business in Cameroon) – Cameroonian brewer (SABC), a leading beverage producer in Cameroon, has awarded 500 scholarships to primary school students in the Djerem and Noun divisions, located in the Adamawa and West regions. These scholarships were given to students who performed exceptionally well in the 2023-2024 Certificat d’Études Primaires (CEP) and the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) exams.

By the end of September 2024, SABC will extend this initiative to the Fako division in the Southwest region, bringing the total number of scholarships to 750. According to the company, each scholarship includes all required textbooks and school bags.

This effort is part of SABC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, aimed at helping parents with school expenses and promoting academic excellence. The goal is to support 750 students for a successful school year while encouraging high academic performance.

“Our CSR approach will remain central to our strategy. We plan to strengthen our social leadership through six key pillars: health, education, environment, arts and culture, sports, and entrepreneurship,” said Stéphane Descazeaud, SABC’s Managing Director.

This initiative reinforces SABC’s commitment to supporting local communities through social and educational programs.
