Don’t miss this residency feedback by Goethe-Découverte 2024 laurates in the theatre category!
As part of the Goethe-Decouverte theatre residency program, four young Cameroonian theatre artists benefited from a four-week training from renown theatre practitioners and technicians (Alioum Moussa, Emelda Ngufor Samba, Hermine Yollo, Jean Marc Cedot, Kouam Tawa, Martin Ambara, and Matthias Gehrt). The residency was held from the 12.08 to 04.09.2024 in OTHNI (Yaounde, Essos). The training focused on history and theories of theatre, stage acting and directing, text analysis and dramaturgy, costume and scenography, sound and light management.
The residency rounds off with a restitution performance titled ”Die Stunde da wir nichts voneinander wußten by Peter Hadke, scheduled for 04.09.2024 from 5pm at OTHNI-Laboratoire de Théâtre de Yaoundé (opposite Facanbudo, Essos-Titi garage)

Initiated in 2015 by the Goethe-Institut Kamerun, Goethe-Découverte is a platform for promoting young Cameroonian artistic talent in several disciplines (comics, music, visual arts, theatre, dance, spoken words). The winners are selected by a jury of professionals following a competition and receive support in preparing and producing their creative project. For the 2024 edition of the theatre category, exceptionally, 4 artists were selected and benefited from capacity building in the form of a residency.
