Cameroon’s first international automobile, mobility and transport exhibition is set to bring vehicle dealers, transport operators, investors and technology providers together in Douala in October. According to the promoters, the Expo seeks to create a platform for investment, business partnerships and innovation in the country’s transport and mobility market.
Dubbed Cameroon Auto Expo 2026, the event will run from October 17 to 24 at the Camtel Stadium in Bépanda. It is being organised by Maraboo and Kanao, two communication and events agencies, under the theme “Building Together the Future of Mobility”.
The Ministry of Transport, which announced details of the event following its official launch in Yaounde said the Expo is expected to bring together public institutions, private companies, researchers and technical partners.
Beyond vehicle exhibitions, the eight-day event will feature business-to-business meetings and masterclasses. Vehicles, heavy equipment and new transport technologies will also be exhibited. According to the Ministry of Transport, the initiative is intended to create a platform for dialogue, innovation and partnerships. It also seeks to attract investment into the mobility and transport sector.
The investment focus of the Expo, comes as Cameroon moves ahead with transport infrastructure projects linked to its position as a transit gateway for Central Africa. In June 2026, the World Bank approved a $1.12-billion programme to modernise the Douala-Bangui economic corridor. The first phase provides $525 million for infrastructure rehabilitation, road safety and maintenance reforms in Cameroon and the Central African Republic, as well as interventions at the CEMAC level. The more than 1,400-km corridor carries over 80% of the Central African Republic’s external trade, according to the World Bank.
At the launch of Cameroon Auto Expo, Ngallè Bibehe said innovations in the transport sector are multiplying while consumer expectations and competitiveness requirements are changing. He said this creates a need for platforms bringing government, businesses and other sector actors together.
The organisers say the Expo will provide opportunities to create partnerships, showcase expertise and connect businesses around investment opportunities. They intend to develop it into a recurring automobile and mobility event for Cameroon and the wider Central African market.
