This book analyzes the failure of the Western democratic model in Africa since the 1990s, following the La Baule speech. Presented as a step toward freedom and good governance, this imported and imposed democracy has led to the confiscation of power, corruption, and the weakening of institutions. The book examines the deeper causes of this failure. The author shows that this model was applied without taking into consideration African cultural, historical, and social realities. Political pluralism has thus become a tool of domination and diversion rather than a driver of development. Finally, the book offers a reflection on forms of governance adapted to African dynamics.
