Cameroon’s Aviation Fuel Exports to France Surge by 82.5% in 2023

(Business in Cameroon) – In 2023, Cameroon exported 63,568 tons of aviation fuel to France, earning CFA22.5 billion, according to a report released on August 19, 2024, by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). The report does not provide data from previous years.

However, it does highlight a significant 82.5% increase in aviation fuel exports to France in 2023 compared to the previous year, suggesting that sales of this product were lower in the past.

This growth in aviation fuel exports is part of a broader trend of rising exports of hydrocarbons and related products to France. Since 2022, hydrocarbons (oil and natural gas) have dominated Cameroon’s exports to France. In 2023, Cameroon shipped over 780,000 tons of these products to France, accounting for 71% of its total exports. This includes 550,960 tons of liquefied natural gas.
